En riktigt riktigt gammal gasmotor. Även denna startades upp. Den lät inte som andra motorer och ingen blev riktigt klok på hur den egentligen fungerade.

A really old gas motor. This too, was started! It didn't sound like other engines and none of the spectators could really figure out how it worked.

Northern Europe's oldest combustion engine. Sold by Deutz to Rich. Schlichter, Düsseldorf, in 1878 after having served during ten years as a test engine by Otto & Langen.
The new type of four-stroke engines that we are familiar with today was patented in 1877. Following that, the motor type displayed here, was phased out.
