Scandinavian Vincent Club

We got a nice picture from Sten L. It's his Rapide that he owned many years ago. This bike just have to be "Vincent of the Month" now in February.

Sten told us this:
I bought a 1954 Rapide Series C (junk) in 1964 paying SEK 200:- , (roughly 20 Euro!).
It was restored and "Shadowised", got double oilcoolers from Citroen 2CV on the crashbar. Lightening holes were drilled in every possible position. It was in use until 1974 as a commuter bike to work, when I sold it for SEK 8 500:- (about 900 Euros)
(One of many idiotic things I have done, maybe the worst of them all, except the choice of my former wife...).

I remember when I got a speed wobble in 150 km/h (94 mph) downhill close to Järna outside Stockholm. The steering damper is an important piece!. Luckily, I regained control and escaped the incident unharmed.

	Vi fick en härlig bild från Sten L på den Rapide han en gång i tiden hade. Raskt utsåg vi den till Månadens Vincent nu i Februari. Sten berättade följande: Jag köpte en Rapide 1954 år 1964 (skrot) för 200:-, renoverade och hade mig (shadowiserade, monterade dubbla oljekylare från Citroen 2CV på störtbågen, borrade lättningshål i allt som gick) och körde den till jobbet fram till 1974 när jag sålde den för 8 500:- (ett av många idiotstunts jag har begått, kanske det värsta bortsett från val av en tidigare fru). Bifogar hur den såg ut. Tårar i ögonen, djup suck. Minns hur jag fick speed wobble i 150 i en nedförsbacke vid Järna. Styrbromsen viktig! Kom dock ur det kontrollerat.
