Scandinavian Vincent Club

As Picture of the Month we select this picture, sent to us by the hon. chairman of the club, Mats Johansson. After the Vincent Meet in Olofström, he decided to go to North Cape just to prove the reliability of his Vincent Comet. Nort Cape is as far north You can drive on the European mainland. If You want to continue north from there with a Vincent, You must use a Vincent Amanda.

Here is his story:
AWE (the registration plate) is synonymous with fear, reverence and respect. I hade a small taste of fear before the trip, a lot of reverence during the trip and after returning back home also a lot of respect for all people that had contributed to the existence fo these bikes. My Comet went so fine that modern bikes was no longer so impressive.

After having the kickstand secured with Loctite only problem was a mosquito on the headlamp rim. My friend had a slightly bigger problem with a mosquito in his ear inside the helmet, which prevented him from driving in a stright line, but he didn't stop. My mosquito finaly left the headlamp after reaching 45 kmh at my recently calibrated 5" speedo, which is 60 kmh in reality!

	Månadens bild får bli den som vår ordförande Mats skickat in. Efter årets Vincent-träff fick han för sig att bevisa Vincents tillförlitlighet och användbarhet genom att på sin Comet åka så långt norrut som det går, till Nordkap. För att åka ännu längre norrut i Skandinavien med en Vicent krävs det att resan därefter fortsätter med Vincent Amanda. Här är hans berättelse: AWE (hojens reg.nr.) på engelska betyder fruktan, vördnad och respekt. Ett inslag av fruktan fanns hos föraren innan, under färd var det mycket vördnad och efter kände föraren mycket respekt för alla som bidragit till Vincentens existens och att just min cykel gick så fantastiskt bra att många moderna cyklar kändes överarbetade och medelmåttiga. Efter att jag, nu med gänglåsning, monterat tillbaka sidostödet satt det en mygga på lyktsargen, kompisen hade en i örat under hjälmen, han körde vingligt med ibland yviga rörelser en stund men stannade inte. Myggan på lyktsargen släppte greppet vid 45 km/timman enligt nykalibrerad 5-tummsklocka, alltså minst 60!.
